What would your hours be?

Our center would be open from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Our goal is to fill the need for full-day childcare in the area, and to that end we would request a commitment to the payment for a minumum of 18 hours of care per week for children who are not in school. Full day registration would be required for children under the age of 12 months. Please keep in mind that the there is a daily limit of 10 hours that a child can spend in our care.
What are your next steps?

Currently we are in the process of presenting our plan to potential donors, and on the lookout for the right property. Please let us know if you are interested in donating or know of land available in the area. Our ideal property would be 3+ acres of buildable land, with access to wooded areas for the kids to explore. We'd love to have our donors hear why you need a childcare option. What is your business model?

Fidalgo Christian Childcare is an established non-profit organization run by a board of directors made of parents and community members invested in the well-being of children on Fidalgo Island. Income generated by registration/tuition costs would pay facility and material needs and staff members, which would include a credentialed director, an assistant director, lead teachers, assistant teachers, consultants, and janitorial/grounds workers. Any excess funds generated would be returned into the upkeep of the center, additional expansion, or scholarship opportunities.
What would your curriculum be?

Age appropriate curriculum and learning materials would be selected and voted on by the board of directors. Our goal is to encourage cognitive growth, increase working memory, introduce problem solving skills, develop gross motor and fine motor skills. We aim to include sensory integration, STEM focused learning, self-help skills, social and emotional development. An emphasis would be placed on instilling Christian-based values and promoting health and wellness.
How much would your childcare rates be?

Pricing would be on a sliding scale based on the amount of hours committed to per week. Special assistance may be provided based on family income. Please see our proposed pricing page for further information.
